Kivik Pavilion by David Chipperfield and Antony Gormly
Gormley says: “I see the work as a meditation on the status of sculpture and architecture and their respective relationships with light, mass and space using the material most associated with modernity: concrete.”

London Biotopes
P, a little nanodorkus for ya.

The largest part of the pharmaceuticals and chemicals we take go through our bodies and eventually end up in waste water. As water and waste treatment plants haven’t been designed to filter them, the content of our medicine cabinets are eventually passed into the water supply. In London, tap water comes from surface water which implies that traces of our medicine can end up in our drinking water. This results in local differences in tap water, based on the food and drugs we ingest.

YOUprison, thoughts on containment, incarceration, and the limitation of freedom.

11 international architectural studios were challenged by curator Francesco Bonami to leave aside the world of lavish towers, swanky condos or spectacular bridges for a moment and turn their attention to the far less glamorous correctional facility. They had to design a life-size cell equipped with all the essential features the inmates require and from then on engage in a reflection about the prison system and its corollaries: the restriction of freedom, human rights, instruments of surveillance and control, etc.

What happened to just blowing s**t up?
Much easier to sort, and better for the environment, it’s acutally faster than lighting it up and watching it fall. The time to clear out the site was reduced by 20%.  However, why not build so we don’t have to tear it down??
