Join us for a rare stateside appearance by Internationally renowned techno artist ELLEN ALLIEN at Sonotheque. Hailing from Berlin, ALLIEN has six full-length albums to her credit, has done remixes for the likes of AUDION and BECK (among others), and is the founder of the highly regarded BPitch Control label. Venuszine describes her work as “hypnotic and heavy”, “fused with layers of ethereal harmonies and an underlying edge that subtly hints at a sense of impending doom.” Joining her, eclectic Berliners and labelmates MODESELEKTOR offers a live set of impulsive, stuttering IDM. They’ll be playing material from last year’s brilliant BC release Happy Birthday! ANDREW KEVINS spins throughout, mixing diverse musical styles together in forming seamless dancefloor interludes that should compliment things perfectly here. ( XLR8R )
