Carlos Ramos – Ramayana
India is the latest series of work by Los Angeles-based Carlos Ramos. Colours really pop in these cel-vinyl on wood works that are a cross between cartoons and old school travel posters. South Asian motifs galore in narratives that include the Ganges River, the statue of Bahubali and the Mahaparinirvana Temple. The works are a vibrant mix of myth and action, and the use of gold leaf in some of the pieces just adds to the richness and luxuriant feel.
