Dan Witz: In Plain View
Dan reminisces about his infamous street imagery, the message behind it all, and his new fine art…
“I know people think I put those hoodie characters up to mark where they sell drugs, but it’s true, that’s where they were. This was in the Lower East Side, which was not a nice neighborhood,” states street and fine artist extraordinaire, Dan Witz. “It was a sort of poetic gesture, that guy. There is an ominous tone to it. But there’s more to it, to me. I wouldn’t define it too much. I wouldn’t define any of them too much.”
