These are the photos released from the presentation of Alexander McQueen’s final collection he worked on before his passing on 11 Feb, a total of 16 looks. It’s a really beautiful collection, not as harsh as Fall 2009, and is quite similar to his Fall 2008 story about princesses and royalty. The inspiration seems to come from religion, as shown in the prints. After seeing the pictures, don’t you have a bitter sweet feeling?

Clemens Behr, german artist born in 1985 mainly works with cardboard, tape and found wood. His recent work focuses on the transformation of a given space by building paper installations, which seem to take over the place they have been spontaneously build in. Through simple geometric shapes, the visitor experiences casual confusions of 2D painted and 3D existing objects.
With an easy folding technique, Behr quickly processes paper and fills the space with origami-like sculptures, all made out of material which originally was made for other, everyday purposes.

For the show Black White Everything, he will do an “cut during assembly” installation for the Rojo Art Space Barcelona. Using the existing colors of the galleries visual appearance, black walls, white light, wooden ground and a red grid, he decided only to work with this colours, wood and everything else related he can find during his stay in Barcelona. The fact of not being sure what exactly there will be to work with, to Behr, always is as exiting as realizing the spontaneous, process orientated installation.

Alongside the Installation he will exhibit current prints, illustrations and a film about his installations in the streets of Barcelona.

The site locates on mountainside of Izu-san, where Pacific Ocean can be looked down on the south. The untouched wilderness, covered with deciduous broad-leaved trees such as cherry trees and Japanese oaks, gives little level ground. But we saw faint glimmer of architectural possibility along the ridge. The architecture would be used as villa for weekends. I didn’t want to just form the undulating landscape dotted with great trees as normal, nor design an elaborate architecture bowing down to the complex topography. What sprang to my mind is a blueprint for an architecture which is perfectly autonomous itself, at the same time seems to emerge as an underlying shape that the natural environment has been hiding. It’s abstraction of nature, to say.

To produce my images I use everything from ordinary household flashlights to chemical concoctions of nitrate and potassium chlorate to create explosions of light. There is NO PHOTO EDITING!
